While most people are familiar with The Dukes of Hazzard, many people do not realize that the Cooter’s Place is the only Dukes of Hazzard Museum located in Nashville. To make things even better, the museum is run by none other than Ben Jones, who played Cooter Davenport throughout the series and movies. Visitors to the museum can expect to find all sorts of memorabilia that they are sure to recognize. On display are all sorts of famous vehicles that were used throughout the episodes such as Cooter’s Tow Truck, Rosco’s Patrol Car, and a 1969 Dodge Charger that is none other than General Lee. Some of the other items on display include props, costumes, and photos fro the series.

Depending on when you visit, chances are that you will be in town for one of the many events that are held at Cooter’s Place. Many of the characters from The Dukes of Hazzard regularly stop by Cooter’s for meet and greets with fans. One of the most popular events held by Cooter’s Place is the Hazzard Run. This event invites all owners of vehicles from The Dukes of Hazzard, especially 1969 orange Dodge Chargers, to participate in a convoy parade. Cooter himself generally participates as well! Since admission is always free for the museum, you won’t need to worry about scheduling ahead of time for your visit. If you are looking for an unforgettable souvenir from your visit, be sure to book an appointment to get your photo taken sitting in the General Lee!
