Wolf’s Ridge Brewing was born through the deep desire of the owners to create a gathering space for other craft beer and food lovers in the downtown Columbus community. The goal was to build a microbrewery and restaurant that is a proud member of the community, where they provide patrons with a wonderful dining and drinking experience.
The concept for Wolf's Ridge Brewing is centered on the idea that by focusing on craft and locally sourced products as much as possible, they are staying true to their primary goal of supporting and emulating the community in which they reside.
Amongst Wolf Ridge Brewing’s many innovations, the one getting the most attention in the craft beer world is the brewery’s innovative take on coffee beers. Traditionally adding coffee to beer is something that tends to happen only with stouts and darker thicker ales. The head brewer at Wolf Ridge, Chris Davison has broken the mold by creating coffee beers with a lighter and brighter drinking experience. In this way, Davison is using coffee in a similar way to hops to create a broad array of flavors and aromas. Using coffee opens up whole new flavor profiles when creating beers. The wildly popular Clear Sky Daybreak is the pinnacle of this innovation. Using El Progresso coffee beans, the breweries cream ale, and One Line Coffee, the finished product is a delicious coffee vanilla cream ale sitting at 5.1%ABV. The Clear Sky Daybreak is only one of many examples of the type of creativity that makes Wolf’s Ridge Brewing an esteemed brewery.
