The William Penn Tavern, located in Pittsburgh's Shadyside locale, is more of a neighborhood bar unlike many of the larger and more corporate establishments found nearby. The Tavern has a large outdoor space that is covered and heated in the winter with plenty of television screens for sports fans to cheer on their team at game time. Since most of Pittsburgh’s outdoor bars are located on rooftops, those wanting to experience the outdoors while enjoying the game tend to appreciate this first-floor bar without three flights of stairs to hike up.
Customers can take advantage of daily drink specials which are listed on their website as well as cheap Bud Light pitchers every day. Over 15 screens are playing a variety of games with tons of Pittsburgh sports memorabilia hanging between them.
The William Penn Tavern's kitchen is open until midnight and the menu consists of a variety of hearty, pub food options such as clam strips, mac and cheese bites, homemade chili, and of course the famous Pittsburgh salad with fries on top of steak or chicken, lettuce, cheese, and don't forget the recommended ranch dressing. Their wing offering is abundant with flavors including dry jerk, honey cajun voodoo, Thai chili sauce, and the kitchen sink which is a combination of the spicier sauces along with buffalo and honey.
