Tony's Fish and Oyster Cafe, another Grandville Island treasure, is a casual joint complete with blue-checked tablecloths serving up a wide array of the freshest fish and seafood since 2002. Conveniently located in the section known as “Maritime Market” near the entrance of Granville Island, Tony's Fish & Oyster Cafe has built a solid reputation due to their great food and was awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years.
Their specialty dish, fish n chips, comes with delicately battered fish made with Pacific cod, Wild Sockeye salmon, or Premium Alaskan halibut, fresh-cut chips, and homemade tartar sauce. All made with zero trans fat oil and available for take out. Their clam chowder is made daily in house and filled with lots of fresh clams. In addition, Tony's prepares a number of soups like their cioppino, oyster stew, and oyster pepper stew.
Other fan favorites are the BBQ-sauced oyster burger and the Triple Bonanza platter with pan-fried cod, salmon and halibut in an herb garlic butter with rice and coleslaw. Be sure to leave room for Tony's special dessert, Banana Foster. Bananas are flambeed in rum, brown sugar, and finished off with vanilla ice cream. Tony's offers various draft options from local Granville Island Brewing, including their Island Lager and English Bay Pale Ale, and features a beer each month on special.
