The Times Square Alliance is proud to continue to work to improve and promote Times Square, so that it retains the creativity, energy and edge that have made it an icon for entertainment, culture and urban life for over a century.

On June 30, 1973, the first Hershey's Chocolate World opened in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Demand for tours at the original factory location was so high that the owners redesigned the location as a sort of amusement park, complete with a variety of sucrose attractions.

Hershey's Chocolate World has since expanded into eight locations including Times Square, Chicago, Las Vegas and Shanghai.

New York City's Chocolate Store is a staple in Times Square. The relatively small location is known to have lines out the door every day. Chocolate isn't the only sweet thing in the store; Hershey employees are well known for their energetic and fun personalities.

The Chocolate World in Times Square is planning on moving its location to an even bigger building in late 2017. Hopefully the classic candy bar sign will remain.
