Gangster Tours

Did you know that Oak Park and River Forest were once home to some of Chicago’s most notorious gangsters? Led by author and mob historian John Binder, the "There Goes the Neighborhood Tour" takes guests on an exterior home tour of 13 homes which belonged to some of the city's most dangerous criminals. Not only will you learn about the family who lived in each of the homes, but you'll also discover which ones have hidden rooms and secret tunnels. This is a great tour for people who love Chicago history or for those looking for something really unique to do. The luxury bus tour lasts for 2.5 hours and takes place on various Sundays. There are two start times—11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The tour begins at the 19th Century Club located at 178 Forest Avenue in Oak Park. Check the Visit Oak Park website for additional information, including ticket prices and tour dates.
