“The Insider's Guide” Of Where To Go And What To Do In Chicago
In an effort to separate itself from other average coffee shops, The Wormhole Coffee decided to design their space with an 80s theme in mind. Their first order of business was tossing a replica DeLorean from Back to the Future in the front of the store, an impressive eye-catcher if anything. Also, throughout the shop, there are old-school Nintendo games, an original Mac computer, and vintage 80s posters, which perfectly set the scene to take you back in time.
Wormhole Coffee supplies locally sourced coffee and unique merchandise in the Wicker Park neighborhood. It's open every day until 11 PM and is the perfect spot for hanging out for a while and enjoying the flashback to the 1980s. There are plenty of outlets around Wormhole and they have free WiFi as well, making it a great place to do some work.
Their menu is expansive but also unique because instead of just offering a plethora of coffees and teas, they also give customers the option of how they want it to be served. You can choose to have it batch brewed, hand brewed, hot, iced, seasonal, or simply traditional. Clever references are also applied to coffee names and seasonal drinks on rotation such as the Ghost Busters marshmallow man. Plus, they serve baked goods that combine perfectly with any of their beverages, including desserts and breakfast, and you can even get cereal by the bowl. Come early to grab a seat because this is, appropriately, a very popular and well-loved spot in Wicker Park.
