With four locations in Nashville and one in Fishers, Indiana, The Well is on an inspired mission to integrate coffee and community, and to inspire change both locally and globally. It is Nashville’s only mission-aligned coffeehouse, and it donates all its hard-earned profit to charity to help alleviate poverty and create a more sustainable and socially responsible future. Its story of success in its global giving campaign is quite inspiring.
Appropriate to its name, The Well funds access to clean water campaigns in Africa. Since The Well opened its doors, it has fully sponsored 23 wells for villagers across Togo, Malawi, Kenya, The Congo, Senegal, Chad, and the Central African Republic. Every cup of coffee bought represents giving through an act of love for people who are exposed to cholera, drought, civil war, and devastating famine. Through the generosity of The Well, women in Senegal who live on the border of the Sahara Desert can more easily provide clean water for their families; orphans in Malawi are not exposed to cholera; and war-torn families in the Congo have a local well for the first time in their lives. When a passionate community gathers together with purpose, magic happens.
Foodies will love the creative blend of seasonal beverages. The Princess Peach, with its blend of ginger ale, cold brew, and peach, is perfect for a steamy summer evening after exploring the Riverfront Park. Another refreshing blend is John the Gardener, named for the herbal flavors of basil and lavender, with hints of blueberry. For the traditionalists, they also offer the usual coffee and espresso drinks, loose teas, and smoothies. Whatever the choice, everyone can feel good about spending their money at The Well, knowing it is helping someone you will never meet get access to the basic necessity of clean water.
