A visit to Richmond wouldn't be complete without some time in a brewery, or at least sampling craft beer. There are more than a dozen breweries in Virginia's capital city. The Veil Brewing Company is at the top of the list of the best ones. A peek behind The Veil shows what sets it apart from the rest.
Matt Tarpey, The Veil Brewing Company's owner, is also a brewer of craft beer and built the brewery from the tanks on up. Tarpey knows his hops; he's spent time under some of the greats in the brewing business. The atmosphere of The Veil is proof of his passion. If you share a passion for beer, this is the place to be. The Veil, though laid back, is serious about quality craft beer production. While Matt has been in the game for many years, The Veil Brewing Company is a relatively new endeavor for him and his business partners. The Veil opened its tasting room doors in the spring of 2016.
The tasting room, or taproom, is why you come to this craft brewery. Looking at the many selections for sale can be a bit overwhelming if you're new to it all, but don't fret. Exploring the world of craft beer is what it's all about! The list of available bottles and cans is updated daily, so check the website before visiting. If you don't know what your tastebuds are craving, walk in and try some of the many offerings of the day.
Although they don't serve food in the taproom, there's a food truck on site each day. You’re also welcome to bring food from home, takeout, and even order delivery straight to the brewery.
