All Signs Point To Fun

The Scorpio is the longest operating gay nightclub in Charlotte. Located on Freedom Drive, the club opened its doors in 1968; and they've kept the party going ever since! The club's owner since the 80s, Donald O'Shields has created a place for the LGBTQ community to call their own. Over the years, there's been an increase in patrons from all walks of life. But, O'Shields' vision of a place for the LGBTQ community to feel "at home" remains strong. All are welcome, and having a good time is the goal!

This is the Rhythm of the Night

Having established themselves as THE place for LGBTQ nightlife, Scorpio's Nightclub knows a thing or two about hosting a night to be remembered. They're only open on Fridays and Saturdays, so each night is packed with enough excitement to get you through the week. The crowd here tends to be in their 20s and 30s, so this is for the young and the young-at-heart. Age for entry is 18 and, of course, the drinking age is 21. The club has two separate dance floors and three bars! The DJ plays a mix of music from hip hop to Latin beats to old-school. The whole place is packed with people having a good time and expressing themselves freely.

What A Drag!

A staple since the early days, the drag shows are the highlight of the Scorpio Nightclub! Full of pageantry and creativity, the shows will keep you entertained and engaged. The performances are lively, and you'll be cheering right until the last death drop.
