The Mission District

Mission District San Francisco

Hi! I'm Claire an avid traveler and Digital Nomad. At 34 I sold all my worldly possessions that wouldn’t fit into 3 boxes or in my backpack and hit the road.

Being a lover of all things Latin (especially salsa dancing and taco eating) The Mission is my personal favorite district in San Francisco. Although it's going through a lot of gentrification right now (like a lot of San Francisco), it is keeping hold of its charm and remains a great place to go for a night out.

Here you will find street art, great food, and lively bars and restaurants. For Coffee lovers I recommend going to Four Barrel Coffee, they even have a slow bar. One thing you will learn about San Francisco is that it takes their coffee-making seriously! For the best tacos put Loló on your list. They have a great menu full of Mexico inspired food. Like their decor, Lolo is super quirky and likes to mix things up. I'm a big fan of their Quesadillas made with hand-made tortillas seasoned Vegetables and oaxaca cheese. Or if you prefer tacos, you can't go wrong with the fish.

Once the sun goes down in The Mission it's time to get your salsa on! You can find live bands and salsa dancing most nights of the week here, but the best nights are generally Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
