The Flying Avocado Cafe prides itself in being a healthier alternative to traditional fast food. In fact, the owner is a doctor! They offer options that appeal to meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. Nevertheless, they still aim to serve their customers within 15 minutes of ordering. You won't have to wait around all day.
As you might expect, the Flying Avocado offers a number of dishes that are based on the pitted fruit. For example, they have special house guacamole, as well as the "Avocado Triple Concoction" dip.
They have a number of salads, such as "Dr. Ray's Rainbow Salad," which has healthy foods like walnuts, flax seeds, and cranberries.
They offer a wide assortment of wraps and sandwiches, including the Grilled Chicken Macadamia Wrap (chicken breast, mandarin oranges, greens, Chinese noodles, and macadamia nuts), the Roasted Rosemary Lamb & Feta Wrap (lamb, roasted potatoes, greens, feta cheese, and rosemary mayonnaise), and the Avocado Chicken Sandwich.
There is a whole section of the menu dedicated to vegan options such as the House Vegan Chili, the Avocado Black Bean Burger Wrap, and the Grilled Portabella Wrap.
If you want something a little less healthy, indulge and order the Roast Beef & Brie. Sometimes you need to live a little.
They also have coffee and smoothies in case you're looking for a little energy!
The Flying Avocado is located in Owings Mills, Maryland, which is a bit northwest of downtown Baltimore. If you want to take public transportation, the Baltimore metro system extends to Owings Mills, so you don't have to spend money on a ride if you want to save some cash.
The Flying Avocado is open from 11am–5pm on Monday–Saturday. Unfortunately, it's not open on Sundays. If you're in the mood for something healthy for lunch, head over to The Flying Avocado Cafe.
