Digital Storytelling and Visitor Analytics for City and Cultural Institutions

This museum will change your whole perspective of what a museum is and how to see art itself. Contemporary Austin makes art fun for anyone and not just a selective group of people. If art and museums intimidate you, this is the place to go to face that fear. The Contemporary breaks down what it means to present art and is actively intertwining with the city’s modern and open atmosphere through its exhibitions.

The Contemporary has been around since 1995 when the Texas Fine Arts Association bought the vacant building and renovated it to house art. The doors were opened to the public in 1998. Today the center is open every day but Mondays and Holidays. Admission prices are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. For the best deal you should go on Tuesdays; the museum is free for all on Tuesdays. Contemporary is a great way to spend a day admiring modern art.
