Tarrant's hasn't always been a restaurant, but the former drugstore still emanates healing energy. A comfort food heaven, Tarrants is a stupendous spot to visit with the whole family. Got a pasta-with-butter kind of child? There's a kids' menu here, and that's literally on it. But the food gets more exciting from there.

Tarrant's does a little of everything, so it doesn't much matter what you're craving. Pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and even dressed up chicken and waffles are available here, and if you're in the mood for baby back ribs or seared fish in a lobster cream sauce, you'll find those too.

That said, this place serves brunch 'til three and has some serious egg dishes for the not-breakfast-not-lunch connoisseur. Is it the only place in Richmond that makes a pastrami benedict with bearnaise sauce and grilled tomatoes? We're not entirely sure, but between that and the bananas Foster French toast, we're too distracted to double-check. The other irresistible thing here? Dessert. Tarrant's makes all its desserts in-house, which means the staff gets to have some fun with it. Do they have strawberry shortcake? Sure. But here, it's a strawberry shortcake waffle. Do they have apple pie? Well, yeah. But upside-down apple walnut pie just seems...better? Judge for yourself.

Come to Tarrant's to get just what the doctor ordered.
