Originally founded in 1987 as the tourism arm of the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce, Experience Scottsdale became a standalone organization in 2001. The organization has more than 40 full- and part-time employees, along with a volunteer board of directors composed of local hospitality and tourism industry leaders.
Scottsdale Stadium, located in the heart of historic Downtown Scottsdale, is home to some of Scottsdale's most celebrated occasions including Giants Spring Training, the Arizona Fall League, and a series of year-round special events. The Stadium can be rented by the hour or daily from April 15th - December 31st and offers a diverse mix of indoor and outdoor function space perfect for sporting events, corporate parties, fundraisers, conferences and more.
The original stadium was built in 1956 and served as the spring home to several teams over the years, including the Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, and Oakland A’s. The current stadium, built in 1992, is more than twice the size, seating about 12,000. The city gave it a $23-million renovation in 2006 in return for a promise by the Giants to stay here unlit at least 2025.
If you’re not a baseball fan, keep an eye out for other interesting events here. Nearby Luke Air Force Base uses the stadium for a military working dog show.
