Located in Downtown, the San Jose Center for Performing Arts was designed in 1972 by the Taliesin Associated Architects. It is now home to San Jose Dance Theatre and Broadway San Jose, hosting important performances throughout the year. The center's auditorium has 2,677 seats and two smaller rooms: the Private Ridder Lounge with capacity for 150 and the Private President's Club with capacity for 50.
The center has become a major attraction in the city of San Jose, hosting important events every year such as Broadway shows, musicals, recitals, conferences, ballet and dance performances, and private celebrations. Blended into the downtown cityscape, the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts has a unique architecture relevant in the modern era. The house features classic plush-red continental-style seating fit, as well as an entryway, lobby, spiraling walkways and a patio ideal for social events.
Although the center has plenty of space, it is best to reserve the tickets for your favorite show in advance because it gives you a better chance to pick your desired seats. Prices range depending on the event, but especially if you choose to be at the balcony or at the orchestra section (graded seats). The best part is that no matter how many times you visit this center, you will always be entertained and will have a unique experience.
