Rustic Root is a restaurant located in the Gaslamp District of San Diego. The restaurant showcases a ‘dynamic-rustic‘ American cuisine where dishes are rooted in tradition but support a modern flair. The restaurant has a rooftop bar - one of the only restaurants in the Gaslamp District that does! From the roof, you can see out to the water and over to Petco Park, the Major League Stadium where the Padres play. The food and drink menus feature high-quality ingredients that transform simple favorites into flavorful and seasonally-infused dishes. We suggest grabbing a few appetizers to share and one dinner dish. The meatball appetizers are a combo of ground bison and pork, covered with a delicious whiskey sauce and topped off with some melted parmesan. If you are a lover of seafood, you need to try the firecracker shrimp. These fried shrimp are covered in a delicious sriracha aioli and drizzled with a spicy-sweet mango sauce.
Rustic Root is known for its signature drink menu and concentrates on timeless and iconic classics. The restaurant also offers creative options for playful drinkers like their craft cocktail shots, which are sip-size versions of the classics finished with curated garnishes. Looking for a more classic drink? Try the house-made sangria!
Open for Dinner and occasionally brunch, Rustic Roots is a must stop for anyone in San Diego. The preferred attire is Smart Casual, but you will find people wandering in after a baseball game or concert in a variety of looks.
