Ranger Creek, established in 2010, is a unique brewery/distillery combination. Referred to as a "brewstillery," they make both beer and whiskey. Each bottle at Ranger Creek is lovingly made by hand, one batch at a time. Their award-winning whiskeys are made with Texas ingredients in small batches and range from straight bourbon, rye, single malt, and special releases only available in the distillery. Their most popular .36 Texas Straight Bourbon is aged in traditional large oak casks and matured under the Texas sun.
Some of the brews in Ranger Creek's lineup include their San Antonio Lager, which is an easy-drinking German-style lager; Love Struck Hefe; Skytrooper IPA; and their Sunday Morning Coming Down, which is brewed British style, along with cold-brewed coffee from San Antonio's Merit Roasting. They also offer an Oktoberfest and Strawberry Milk Stout, which is basically chocolate-covered strawberries in beer form. Making good use of their brewstillery resources, they also created This Wee Heavy, which is aged in their bourbon barrels coming in at 11.9% ABV.
The food menu is simple and rotates with light snacks and meat and cheese plates. They frequently have food trucks on-site as well as special events like Pizza Night, Jazz and Cocktails, Artisan Markets, and Cocktails & Lobster Rolls.
Ranger Creek also offers tours where guests learn how to make both beer and bourbon. This captivating experience includes a guided tour of the brewstillery, a souvenir pint glass, and three product samples. For an additional fee, guests can join a VIP Whiskey Sampling Experience after the tour, where they can sample future releases straight from the barrel.
