Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is a “can’t miss” attraction for military history buffs. Your ticket includes access to all of Patriot Point’s exhibits, including the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier, the USS Laffey destroyer, the USS Clamagore submarine, the Vietnam Experience, the Medal of Honor Museum, and the historic aircraft display.
The USS Yorktown patrolled the Pacific during WWII, served with distinction during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and was used as a recovery ship for the Apollo 8 crew. A replica of the Apollo 8 space capsule and the Medal of Honor Museum are housed on the Yorktown.
The USS Laffey supported the Normandy landings on D-Day, defended against kamikaze attacks during the Battle of Okinawa, and participated in atomic bomb tests in the Marshall Islands. A Combat Information Center exhibit aboard the destroyer gives visitors insights into the role it played during the Cold War.
With the exception of several joint exercises and naval operations in other parts of the world, the USS Clamagore stayed close to home, patrolling the waters of the Atlantic for more than 30 years. It is the only remaining GUPPY III submarine in the United States.
The Vietnam Experience is an immersive exhibit that brings the war to life. Visitors will hear the sounds of helicopters and Howitzers and see the vehicles used to transport the troops.

If you’re interested in naval aviation, you’ll want to spend some time exploring the historic aircraft at Patriots Point. Flight simulators and other hands-on experiences are popular with kids and adults.
