Pappy's Smokehouse, Named Best Ribs in America by the Food Network, started as a tribute to the late Jim "Pappy" Emerson and has served more than three million guests from around the globe in their first 10 years. Since day one, hungry guests have been lining up for Pappy's Memphis-style BBQ in their midtown St. Louis location.
Prepared fresh daily, their meats are slow-smoked for up to 24 hours over sweet apple or cherry wood and can be finished off with Pappy's own BBQ sauces - Sweet Baby Jane, Original or HooDoo. Some of their legendary BBQ offerings include their house specialty, dry-rubbed ribs available in half or full slabs, or choose from their beef brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, or spicy sausage sandwiches.
A few unique dishes include their BBQ Spud which is baked potato topped with a choice of meat, baked beans, cheddar cheese, and onion. The Frito Pie is also a fan favorite. A plate of Fritos is topped with choice of meat, baked beans, cheddar cheese, and onion. Since Pappy's serves fresh products daily, they sometimes close early once items sell out and are why their closing hours Monday - Saturday are 8ish and Sunday is 4ish.
