That's how most people first learn about Oasis—but they quickly figure out that delicious food is what makes this place special. Daily specials keep regulars coming back for more.
Oasis has been an East Loop institution for almost 27 years, but it temporarily lost the charming "back of the jewelry store" status in 2006. A sudden closure notice due to remodeling and a subsequent rent disagreement with a landlord forced the owner to relocate to 17 S. Wabash. The landlord then audaciously tried to install a new restaurant using the same name, but it failed miserably. (Justice!) Oasis was asked to return, and all was well again.
Some people think they serve the best falafel sandwich in the loop. The generous portion of chicken shawarma can't be beat for its price. Don't come here for atmosphere, but it's a place you'll want to tell your friends about.
