With everything from gardens aplenty to classrooms for learning, North Haven Gardens is an oasis devoted to everything that grows. North Haven has become a living and learning experience that promotes gardening through horticulture, art, and food. Get ready for a completely back to basics experience that focuses on the plants we can grow and the natural world!
See the variety of plant-life available at the North Haven Gardens in this video:
While North Haven is full of plants and gardens, there's also a classroom at the very back of the garden center where you can take classes on everything from herb gardening to succulent arrangements to watercolor paintings of decorative gourds. You can select from a large variety of classes like "Owls in Texas," where participants learn from birding experts about North American and local owls. Or you can sign-up for workshops such as one that teaches pottery and how to make autumn teapots. There's something for everyone to learn and experience at the gardens.
The North Haven Garden Cafe uses healthy, green cooking processes and sources fresh, local produce wherever possible as well as sustainably produced meats and fish. The menu has a "Garden Snacks" section with items like avocado toast and a cheeseboard. The cafe also includes a large selection of salads and two smoothies: the Green Monster and the Berry Berry Good.
If you thought a cafe, classes, and beautiful gardens weren't enough, the North Haven grounds have even more to keep you entertained. Check out their art gallery devoted to "promoting a lifestyle enhanced by gardening," where locally produced art ranges in its medium and subject matter. Local artists showcase their inspired works to the public during gallery exhibitions with themes like "Rewilding," "Seeing the Unseen," and "Calm to Chaos."
