Space Center Houston is one of the city's most popular attractions. The attraction offers over 400 things to see and do all related to space exploration and NASA. Exhibits include the Astronaut Gallery, where you can see a variety of artifacts and spacesuits from the men and women who went to space. Mission to Mars is another fascinating exhibit. Here, visitors can learn what technology is necessary to travel to the Red Planet. In addition to the exploratory museum, admission includes a behind the scenes look at NASA on the NASA Tram Tour. Recently, Space Center Houston began offering visitors an amazing opportunity to have lunch with an astronaut. While you dine, you can hear first-hand stories and real-life accounts from a trained NASA astronaut. As a special memento of the experience, each person receives a signed photograph from the day's guest astronaut. The Lunch with an Astronaut event occurs every Friday and Saturday at noon.
Due to Space Center Houston's strong commitment to education, the organization also hosts many events geared towards children who are interested in science, space, and exploration. For example, Home School Day invites children to listen to guest speakers and learn more about space engineering by interacting with many hands-on experiments. There are also sensory-friendly events geared toward children diagnosed with conditions such as sensory processing disorder and autism spectrum disorder. Cover image courtesy of Pexels.
