Mounts Botanical Garden is Palm Beach County's oldest and largest public garden with over 2,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants. It is open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Sunday and the admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12 years old. Its location is ideal because it is right behind the Palm Beach International Airport. You don't even need to unpack your stuff- it will be worth to visit this place right away.
What you will find here is a museum with 25 unique garden areas. It doesn't matter where you start or end, the most important part is to check the collections and make sure to understand the story behind every single exhibit because that is the mission of the Mounts Botanical Garden, to share their stories with you. The gardens somehow illustrate what Palm Beach County residents can mimic in their own spaces, whether they are large or small.
The Garden of Tranquility is one of the most visited ones because it brings calm and meditation. It was created by natural elements and it simulates a Zen-like garden. Also, the O’Keeffe Rain Garden is a great place to explore. It handles large amounts of water and cleans it before it goes back into the Eart, that is why it is mentioned as an Earth-Friendly Watershed. But if you are wondering which one your kids would like the best, the answer is the Children's Maze. It has a castle structure where kids can play around and be surrounded by white flowers.
