The Monte Carlo is one of Minneapolis's oldest restaurants and continues the tradition by serving classic upscale American fare. For over a century, The Monte Carlo has been serving steaks, pork chops, seafood, and of course the star of the menu, chicken wings.
The Monte Carlo's menu is an ode to a simpler time in restaurants. Nothing is overcomplicated nothing is unnecessarily fancy. The Monte Carlo is committed to serving up the classics in all their unfettered and delicious glory. One of the local favorites is the whiskey peppercorn fillet featuring large medallions of tenderized beef pan finished in a Madagascar green peppercorn sauce. You can also get sliced liver pan-fried and smothered in braised onions with a touch of lemon to finish which was once a classic American dish found on menus across the country. Now the Monte Carlo is one of the few places left where you can still get it.
Another area where the Monte Carlo appeals to the classics is in their cocktails. While classic cocktails have become a trend all over the country, The Monte Carlo never stopped making them the old way. The bartenders here know how to make a perfect Manhattan or a French 75. Anyone looking for a delicious meal and an old school cocktail would do well to go to Minneapolis's original classic restaurant.
