During a typical visit, the Center's friendly staff organizes live shows, experiments, and hands-on science encounters.
Crosby Ramsey Memorial Observatory is located on the rooftop and grants visitors the opportunity to view planets, stars, the sun, and other astronomical events through a computer-controlled telescope. There are many organized sky-gazing events geared toward looking at the day or night sky. Programming varies, but events often take place year-round on Friday afternoons, Friday evenings, and on Saturdays. The Maryland Science Center suggests checking their online calendar of events for more information. The observatory is open and free to the public.
