Maria's is a New Mexican restaurant located a mile off of the Santa Fe Plaza. Started by Maria and Gilbert Lopez, the kitchen has been in business for over 60 years.
In the 1950s, Maria and Gilbert Lopez started a small take-out kitchen providing Northern New Mexican cuisine to Santa Fe. An instant hit, this small business has turned into a full-service restaurant that is now considered a Santa Fe staple. While the restaurant is no longer owned by the Lopez family, the restaurant continues to maintain the recipes and hospitality provided by the Lopez family in the 1950s. Maria's is known for its New Mexican dishes that include the traditional red and green chile and handmade tortillas. But, the thing that truly gets you hooked to Maria's is the margaritas using 100% agave tequila!
If you're going to Maria's, you have to have a margarita. Maria's has a legendary margarita list that includes over 100 different margarita recipes. We highly recommend the chicken enchiladas with Christmas chile (red and green chile) or their soupy beans. There are also a lot of gluten-free and vegetarian options.
