As a way to preserve manatees, endangered marine mammals, the Manatee Lagoon was designed to create awareness within the community. Interactive exhibits were launched in order to showcase how manatees live and gather in the warm-water outflows of Florida Power & Light Company. The best time of year to visit is between November 15 and March 31 because these are winter months when the manatees choose to congregate in warm weather.
With free admission, the Mantatee Lagoon opens from Tuesday through Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm. It is a family-friendly place with a great number of activities that keep attracting people year-round. Yoga for adults and yoga for kids is one of the most popular attractions here because it has a water view that helps people to feel calm and relaxed. There is also a manatee tales storytime for children between 2 and 5 years old.

There are other fun family options like the Lagoon Explorers where children can explore scientific wonders related to manatees and the way they migrate. Themes vary depending on the season. Also, there are classes every Sunday for children between 6 and 12 years old. Spots fill up quickly because it is a popular class so it is recommended to sign up as soon as possible. And if you think they can get hungry at some point during their classes, Manatee Lagoon has everything planned out. There is a café where you can purchase drinks and snacks for them.
