Making a wax figure isn't as easy as it might seem. The process requires anywhere from four to six months to fully sculpt a wax figurine. The time-consuming process begins with a survey on who should be put in the museum. Next, researchers investigate everything about the chosen person, including clothing preferences, facial expressions, and hairstyles. The figure itself is then sculpted based on measurements and photographs. Figures use steel and clay in addition to wax to maintain their structure, and oil-based paint is used for skin color.
The gallery is home to over 100 life-sized wax figures, featuring athletes, musicians, famous celebrities, film and TV characters, and superheroes.
Notable figures featured in the gallery include Simon Cowell, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Muhammed Ali, Shaquille O'Neal and more.
Whether you visit just out of curiosity or to take a photograph with a specific celeb, Madame Tussauds Las Vegas will blow you away with its amazing attention to detail. Make sure that the next time you visit the Strip, you say hello to the figures down at Madame Tussauds.
