Mad Pecker Brewing Company, located on the far West side of San Antonio, TX offers beer lovers a full menu and rotating craft beer selection. Throughout the week, visitors can participate in events like Geeks Who Drink Trivia and Friday Night Flights. Don't miss the Thursday Glass Nights where they serve specific beers tapped from a featured brewery with special brewery-branded glassware available for those who order it.
Like many others, Mad Pecker owners Jason and Erika Gonzales started brewing beer out of their garage. Their dreams came to fruition in 2013 when they found space and began brewing in their home neighborhood. Illustrated by the pub's eccentric sights and sounds, each batch is brewed for their love of the craft instead of recognition. And the infamous name comes from a woodpecker Gonzales used to chase while on trail runs.
Although their in-house brewed beers change, you can expect to see some Mad Pecker specialties like their Citra & Mosaic Saison, Jazzy Belle Rye Saison, Red Blazer Red IPA, and The Commons Pale Ale. Some of their seasonal brews include Java Patch pumpkin spiced coffee porter, The Infamous Hopp Deep, Lager Machine, and Silver Creek Wheat. In addition to serving their own potions, Mad Pecker also fills its 24-tap system with local, state, and national crafts.
The food menu consists of some perfect beer pairing items, such as fried pickles, beer cheese fondue, Brew House pretzels, and fried mushrooms. They also offer burgers, tacos, and entrees, including Texas poutine fries, bacon mac n cheese, and Madchos. Other fan-favorite menu items include their cheese, veggie, supreme, and Meaty Pecker pizzas. Prior to being home to Mad Pecker, the 4,200-square-foot space was inhabited by a pizza joint, so the Gonzales graciously inherited its pizza ovens.
