Land-Grant Brewing Company is a craft brewery in the historic Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. Co-founders Adam Benner and Walt Keys always imagined returning to Columbus to build something of their own. They had fallen in love with the creative spirit of the craft beer world and spent much of their time in Chicago plotting their inevitable return to Ohio. When they weren't working their regular jobs, Adam fiddled with recipes while Walt designed labels for the brews. It was a match made in heaven, and the two launched and successfully completed a Kickstarter Campaign in 2012. Not long after, home-brewer Quintin Jessee joined the team, and just 899 days later, on September 16, 2014, Land-Grant brewed its first batch of beer. One month after that the taproom and brewing facility opened in Franklinton, and the modern Land-Grant Brewing Company was born.
The taproom and beer garden was designed to be the perfect place to gather, build community, watch the game, talk beer, meet your neighbor, and, of course, drink beers. It is a great place to just kick back and shoot the breeze. The servers at the bar are experts in everything related to beer and are happy to help with any selections. There is plenty of room for parties large and small and the beer garden is one of the best places to catch a show anywhere in Ohio. Land-Grant Brewing started as a small idea in an apartment in Chicago and now is recognized as one the best microbreweries in the Midwest.
