Beyond the Blues/Kingston Mines

Written By Paul Natkin

Photojournalist Paul Natkin captures his love for music through the lens of his camera; no wonder he has worked with the biggest names in music during his 40-year career.

With two stages for continuous music, Kingston Mines has been a staple of the Chicago music scene since 1968, and keeps attracting tourists, locals and celebrities. The artists are predominantly local and the menu features New Orleans style food.

The Rolling Stones once visited the club, and many out of town musicians stop in (partially because of the 4am liquor license - 5am on weekends).
