Kenny & Ziggy's New York Delicatessen is a famous, family-owned deli located in the heart of the Houston Galleria. Known for its Texas-sized portions and delicious food, this deli continuously gets stellar reviews from its customers. First, let's start with their iconic menu. It was so thoughtfully and humorously written that it is actually protected by the Writers Guild of America. Additionally, the owner's life story was featured in the Hollywood documentary, Deli Man. The movie celebrates how delis play an important role in Jewish communities and raises awareness on how their numbers are sadly dwindling.
The menu here is extensive, and every dish is deemed excellent. Favorites include colossal smoked pastrami sandwiches, Matzo ball soup, Reubens, potato latkes, and Lox bagels. Service is fast, attentive, and always courteous. It's no wonder that Kenny & Ziggy's New York Delicatessen was featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.
From all the sandwich establishments featured, Kenny & Ziggy's New York Delicatessen may be the priciest. Guests can expect to pay around $15 to $30 per person. However, their signature sandwiches and cakes slices are huge, and the breakfast and dinner portions are massive. They also offer complimentary pickles while you wait for your order.
