Katz's Deli is a New York-inspired delicatessen known for their hearty, signature sandwiches and all-day breakfast menu. For over 30 years, the family-owned establishment has been serving fresh, authentic New York-style deli cuisine. They take pride in their recipes that have been in their family for generations and believe they offer the best deli food this side of Manhattan. The menu at Katz's Deli is extensive, offering a variety of options for diners. However, locals rave about three signature items—the creamy Cheesecake Shake, a Towering Reuben sandwich, and the crispy fried pickle spears served with a side of ranch dressing. If you're really hungry or love a soup and sandwich combo, their homemade matzo ball soup is a fan favorite. Foodies in search of a sandwich have many options to choose from including open-faced sandwiches, heroes, and a long list of signature deli sandwiches. There are gluten-free bread options for any sandwich. Consider taking advantage of their daily lunch special which is a half sandwich and your choice of side available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. The homemade potato chips are a popular choice.
After getting their start in Austin, Texas back in 1979, they have since opened two locations in the Houston area, one in Montrose and the other in the Woodlands. Katz's claims that it didn't take long for their dishes to win the hearts of those living in cowboy country. Lines would frequently form out the door and around the building with folks lining up for their hearty dishes. That's how the restaurant earned the saying, “Katz’s Never Kloses.” Katz's Deli is open 24/7. Cover image via Wikimedia Commons by Michaela den (CC BY 3.0).
