Where better to watch the game than a bar/restaurant owned by one of football's most esteemed players. Jerome Bettis, former number 36, was the pride and joy of the Pittsburgh Steelers and ranks seventh on the list of NFL rushing yard leaders. Not only does his spot have an average ratio of one TV per customer but the Bus himself often makes appearances in the restaurant. Located steps away from the Steelers home at Heinz Field, Grille 36 offers sports fans the perfect spot to feel close to the game as tickets can be difficult to come by.
The bar area is expansive and adorned with black and gold at every opportunity including some of Bettis' custom memorabilia. There's a wide variety of beers on tap as well as Beer of the Month specials and top-shelf liquor. It is rumored that Jerome Bettis himself works with the Executive Chef on some of the menu items which are all made in house with local ingredients. Starters include a unique spin on the typical such as Asian Firecracker Shrimp, piled high chili and cheese-loaded nachos, and the Pittsburgh favorite pierogi.
Their wing offering is one for the books with options such as dry rub grilled, traditional, or hand-breaded boneless. And no sports bar menu is complete in the Burgh without the staple Pittsburgh salad which includes steak and french fries on the salad. In the spirit of their more upscale vibe, guests also have heartier options such as Steak Penne Gorgonzola, Mediterranean Shrimp Pasta, and a variety of steak cuts.
