With three locations in Asheville, Hi-Wire Brewing has made a name for itself with its commitment to brewing within the traditional styles while also taking part in the culture of experimentation. Known for their barrel-aged sours and wild ales, Hi-Wire is a must-see on your next Asheville beer outing.
Hi-Wire has broken up their beer selections into flagships, seasonal, specialty series, and sour and wild ales. The flagships include three different IPAs, two goses, one lager, and one brown ale, while the seasonals are a set of constantly rotating brews to fit with the current time of year. The specialty series are brews worth paying attention to due to their limited release and creative flavors and tastes. Each of the specialty beers is produced seasonally and includes unique brews like 10W-40 (Horchata), Pink Drink (Tart Wheat Ale) and Enchanter (Baltic Porter). While seasonals and specials are fantastic, the sour and wild ales at Hi-Wire really shine. With 24 choices, you can try something fruity, like the Blueberry Sour, or something a little more adventurous, like the Horchata Sour.
Events are constantly scheduled at Hi-Wire. Whether it's live music, holiday markets, Growler Mondays, or $10 burger and pint nights, there's always something to take part in. Looking for a more educational experience? Quick, 30-minute tours of the brewery at the Biltmore Estate are also available for only $5 for those interested in the brewing process.
