Heist opened its doors in 2012, as Charlotte’s only Craft Brewpub. Originally brewing on a 10HL German brewhouse, they have grown substantially and now operate a 30 barrel production facility. Heist focuses on small-batch beer ranging from traditional Belgian Table Beers, Saisons, to IPA's and Double IPA’s, to Porters and Imperial Stouts.
At Heist Brewing the food is just as important as the beer. The shared plate menu is served tapas-style, showcasing wood-fired specialties, and is composed with an effort to raise the bar of pub fare to the next level. For drinkers who prefer the art of mixology, they have an extensive list of craft cocktails as well as over 100 whiskeys. The Taproom also hosts great local music acts.
One of the flagship beers at Heist is the Bonheur Du Jour. Pronounced “bon-AIR doo-ZHOOR”, it is French for “happiness of the day”. This French Saison gives off notes of pear, apple, and cracked pepper, with a dry finish. Creativity in all forms is a core value for the team at Heist Brewery. Founder Kurt Hogan said, "Art comes in many forms – from brewing and cooking to architecture and painting. Heist was built to showcase the artistic talent of creative individuals who share a true passion for their craft”
