Owners Brian Edwards and Derek Tam named their brewery after the Hawaiian word for "mixed" as a way to express the brewing process, during which water, hops, malted barley, and yeast are combined to produce liquid delight. The large facility provides guests with both indoor and outdoor seating areas to enjoy. The laidback and airy atmosphere is the perfect place to sample some amazing craft beers.
Hapa’s carries about 15 beers on tap at all times. They offer a wide range of styles, including pilsners, ales, IPAs, sour beers, porters, and imperial stouts. A few of the highlights on the menu include Polar Night, Seeker of Truth, and Hungry Dog, though they tend to change up the options quite frequently. One of their most popular craft beers is the Kolsch, which is a light German ale that’s brewed using only a minute quantity of wheat.
Hapa’s currently serves only light snacks; however, outside food is allowed, and food trucks frequently sit right outside their door. There's also a spacious L-shaped bar, and table games are on hand, free of charge. You can even bring your dog with you as animals are welcome!
Hapa's is conveniently located near Santana Row, which is a popular shopping and entertainment district in San Jose. Parking is found all around the building. The brewery is closed on Mondays.
