Choose Chicago® is the official destination marketing organization for Chicago, Illinois. When you’re in Chicago, you’re home. With the countless experiences there are to have here, you're absolutely welcome to do any and all of them.

Originally dedicated as a memorial for the Grand Army of the Republic, the G.A.R. Rotunda and Memorial Hall are among the Cultural Center's most magnificent attractions.

The spectacular stained glass dome in the Rotunda was executed in an intricate Renaissance pattern by the studio of Healy & Millet. Originally serving as a skylight, this dome, like the Tiffany dome in Preston Bradley Hall, was enclosed in copper and backlighted to fully reveal and protect its beauty.

The Rotunda walls are of Knoxville pink marble from Tennessee; its floor is mosaic tile, into which are set backlit windows of translucent glass blocks.

Next to the Rotunda, the Claudia Cassidy Theater is the setting for free public programs, including films, lectures and variety of performances.
