Folks who are short on time, traveling with small children, or have difficulty walking long distances, may want to consider a ride on one of Galena's iconic red trolleys. These open-aired replicas of San Francisco-style trolleys are a popular activity with tourists.
There are two tour options available. The first tour is a one hour non-stop ride that explores about 90 percent of Galena's famous historic district. Trolleys depart on the hour every day.
The second tour travels through the historic district and makes stops at three of Galena's most visited attractions—President Grant's home, the Belvedere Mansion, and the Dowling House. Admission to the homes is included in the price of the tour. The experience lasts approximately three hours.
Galena Trolley Tours operates year-round. Children are free with a paid adult. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office located on Galena's main strip, where there is also a gift shop, restrooms, waiting room, and snack bar. Additional information regarding tours and ticket prices is available on their website link below.
