Fox in the Snow Café is a bakery-coffee shop serving up rustic-style baked goods and hand-poured drinks out of a mason garage in the heart of Columbus’s Italian Village. While the café is known primarily for its scratch-made baked goods that are ready to order, it also serves up Insta-worthy lattes, sandwiches, and more. Visitors not only flock to the café for its pastries and oat milk lattes, but for its modern and communal vibe. The light wood tables coupled with metal accents make for the perfect backdrop for any coffee or pastry. Not to mention the added touch of greenery and natural light. When not surrounded by the rustic-industrial interior, the mural of the café’s leaping fox motif outside of the cafe is sure to make for a great photo for the ‘gram pre- or post-meal.
What makes the café different from others is its focus on slowing down; visitors won’t find Wi-Fi or signs on the pastries, encouraging conversation with a human. Counters and tables are lower so customers can easily chat with the baristas and their friends. The café has placed a significant emphasis on community, which has enabled it to grow into a major community hub in Columbus. For locals and visitors alike, Fox in the Snow is a dining staple anytime you happen to find yourself in Downtown Columbus. From grabbing a quick breakfast to working remote to catching up with an old friend, this place allows you to do all of these. With its success and popularity since its opening in 2014, Fox in the Snow has expanded beyond its Italian Village location with a second location in German Village.
