This historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation is located 30 miles south of San Francisco, at the southern end of the Crystal Springs Reservoir and on the eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Known as one of the finest remaining country estates of the early 20th Century, visitors can explore 16 acres of formal gardens surrounded by a 654-acre estate. Its beauty has been made famous by Hollywood, having been featured in movies such as George of the Jungle, The Game, The Wedding Planner, and many more.

The property was designed to include many of the elements you would expect on an English country estate. In addition to a formal garden, plenty of space was allocated for a large working kitchen garden with espaliered fruits, berry cages, a vegetable garden, a cutting garden, and greenhouses. Every season they offer unique therapeutic experiences for the whole family. Guests can visit the café, have a glass of wine, or enjoy afternoon tea. Filoli also hosts seasonal activities, including tours of the home and grounds, music, art shows, educational programs, and special events.
Filoli plays host to a large number of events throughout the year. The busiest season is summer when the flowers in the garden are in full bloom. During this time, specialty tours and hikes take place. During summer, there is a harvest festival and orchard day as well as Bluegrass at the Barn. And during the holiday season, the whole place is decked out in a magical display. Tap the link below to see what will be happening during your visit.
