A small artisan brewery located in West Kensington, Philadelphia, Fermentery Form and Blendery has perfected their fermentation process. All of their beers are made by “mixed fermentation." What is "mixed fermentation," you ask?
Mixed fermentation means that the beer is co-fermented with various strains of yeast and bacteria. At Fermentery Form, they work with their own cultures maintained in-house. All beers produced at Form are in contact with oak during their production, while some of the beers are fermented and aged in wine barrels.
A wide range of beers are available at Form from golden ales to saisons, old English porters to farmhouse ales. You're sure to find a beer that will expand your palate with Form's old meets new techniques and flavors. If you're not looking to go the traditional ale route, Form has concocted a series of barrel aged beers that have been fermented with wine grapes that they have dubbed "Origins." This series is a blend of 5 barrels that had re-fermented on whole Carménère wine grapes for 3 months.
With nine other brews populating the menu alongside "Origins" at Form, no stone is left unturned when it comes to flavor. A fan of old English porters? Try the "Dark Light" with its refreshingly dry taste and flavors of roasted malts, cherry, oak, and vanilla. More into fruity flavors? Give the beer selection "SLO-MO" a taste. Aged with cherry and blackberry puree, this ale has a light finish with flavors of cherries, raspberries, and blackberry jam.
