Eventide Brewing was formed out of friendship and a love of good beer. Nathan, Haley, and Geoffrey all met at Georgia Southern University, and later on began to experiment with homemade pickles, mustard, cheese, and beer. Nathan and Geoffrey’s brewed their first batch of beer on a “Mr. Beer” kit. Shortly after realizing they needed to upgrade, Nathan fabricated a three-kettle brew system, which is still used to create test brews today. The proof is in the beer, and Eventide is one of the most popular and award-winning breweries in Atlanta. Watch this video of founder Nathan Cowan talking about what makes the Eventide special:
When visiting the taproom at Eventide, there are a couple of must-try drafts. One of the most popular beers at the brewery is the Citrus Grove Hefeweizen. Citrus Grove is a light gold color with a hazy complexion from yeast and wheat, as well as a light, fluffy head. A perfect beer for the summer, you will immediately get notes of lemon zest and bready sweetness in the mold of a true German Hefeweizen. On the other end of the taste spectrum, but just as sought after, is the Dry Irish Nitro Stout. The Dry Irish Nitro Stout is very dark brown, with sweetness from roasted malts to go along with a touch of smoke and a hint of toffee. Ideal for a cold evening, it is mildly hoppy with some bitterness at the end but finishes very dry and clean. Eventide prides itself on being a welcoming environment to everyone, the taproom is kid-friendly, and the patio is dog-friendly, so those who can't imbibe can still enjoy the atmosphere.
