Very Local NOLA makes it easier to love New Orleans better, to love New Orleans more, to love New Orleans fully by connecting you to the people, events, food, culture, and entertainment that make the Crescent City incomparable.
Spend even a few days in New Orleans and you know Emma before you meet her. She mixes old-school Rock poster styles with Bayou sensibilities. Her muses include voodoo-like imagery as well as bayou spirituality and Cajun juju. Emma is a Louisiana Native who landed back in town after a stint overseas. She's a fin artist who loves Classical muses as well as odd mythological creatures. She has done iconic posters for New Orleans music festivals. Her posters, old and new are scattered about town.
Her print work mirrors — and teases — the French colonial imagery that is embedded in houses and buildings all over town.
She takes cues from Mardi Gras, reveling in the local patois and annual rituals which make the place so alive: Emma’s site has a contact page where you can ask for ways to see her work.
