Eighth and Roast has been proudly roasting premium coffees since it was founded in Nashville in 2009.Through strong partnerships with their farmers, they acquire only the best quality coffees and maintain this standard from the roasting process till the final drop is sipped from the cup at the cafe. Eighth and Roast maintains a strong commitment to a culture of excellence, stocking some of the freshest and most ethically traded coffee in Nashville.
This full-service craft coffee roaster focuses its efforts on what is called the "third wave," or "the era of specialty coffee." According to the Eight and Roast blog on their website, the term "third wave" refers to the evolution of America's relationship with coffee. Instant coffee marked the milestone of the first wave of quantity-over-quality, give me the bottom line type of coffee experience. Coffee machines followed in the second wave of the drip coffee machines in every home. Finally, the third wave emerged into the coffee culture with its specialty roasts. This is a time for demarcating a clear distinction between the coffee as a commodity, and coffee as a product and service. From bean to brew, Eighth and Roast knows specialty coffee.
