Eden Hill Winery and Vineyard bottled their first wine in 2010, but their passion for wine began much earlier than that. The dream of Linda and Clark Hornbaker, this business formed as a result of many years of planning along with a desire to make fine wine from locally grown Texas grapes. The land for the current vineyard was purchased in 2003 and it has blossomed into a winery that is a local favorite. This boutique winery produces around 2000 cases of wine per year. This wine is not only loved by locals, but it has also won hundreds of awards both locally and internationally. If you come here looking for photo opportunities, you won’t be disappointed. The vineyards are full of luscious greens and beautiful purple grapes. The winery is situated on a hill, which makes for the perfect backdrop. The inside of the winery is no exception. Inside the tasting room, you will experience a rustic design that makes you feel at home.
If you want to get the true experience, you’ll want to go to their Tasting Room which requires no reservations unless you are in a large group. You can taste some of Eden Hill’s most popular wines and even enjoy a Napa cheese plate! Tours are also available by appointment only. Another neat thing about this vineyard is the fact that they only use rainwater to run their business. The fact that water can be sparse in Texas is something that this family takes seriously, and these practices help to maintain their sustainable methods.
