History

Eddie's was originally founded as a grocery store. However, it also offers gourmet prepared foods (like their delicious sandwiches). This is now common throughout the country. However, when Eddie's got started, this was a revolutionary idea.

Though currently known to locals as Eddie’s, the grocery store was originally named Victor’s. Victor Cohen opened the first Victor's in 1944. He wanted to create an establishment that focused on quality, customer service, and attention to detail.

Ten years later, in 1954, Victor's joined a buying and advertising cooperative that was led by a man named Eddie Levy. Eventually, the cooperative dissolved. But the name "Eddie's" stuck.

Menu

Don't let the fact that Eddie's is a grocery store fool you. Their kitchen has classically trained chefs who make over 60 dishes. If you're looking for a good sandwich, try the "Cloak and Dagger," which is a classic on rye bread with either corned beef or turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing. If you want to get a sandwich named after the city, try the Baltimore. This sandwich has Eddie’s "rare roast beef" on a kaiser roll with Muenster cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a honey mustard sauce. There are vegetarian options as well, such as the Veggie Wrap, Italian Roasted Wrap, and the Powerhouse.

Eddie's Does it All

If you're a local (or not), you can try out Eddie's personal shopping services. Eddie's has a team of shoppers who get to know you and select products they know you'll like. If you're looking for a gift for a special occasion, Eddie's can help with that too. They offer flowers, ground coffee, and various gift baskets to suit any occasion.
