Go on a Backstage Safari at the award-winning Dallas Zoo to get the lowdown on what goes into maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for the animals. A zoologist will escort you around the park on a 90-minute tour during which you’ll learn about the care of the animals and their habitats.

On the Backstage Safari, you’ll be treated like a VIP. Your safari package includes digital photos of your tour, a complimentary ride on the Wilds of Africa Adventure Safari monorail, and a souvenir cup. After your tour is over, feel free to explore on your own. Your ticket gives you access to some really cool exhibits and experiences and select seasonal events like Halloweekend and the Safari Nights Concert Series. The tours are held every Saturday at 10:00 a.m between mid-May and mid-November, but be sure to book early because the Backstage Safari is very popular! If the tour needs to be canceled for any reason, the zoo will work with you to reschedule for a later date. Founded in 1888, the Dallas Zoo is the largest zoo in Texas. Home to over 2,000 animals and over 400 different species, the zoo is highly regarded for its conservation efforts and educational programming.
