Dallas Theater Center

If you are looking for big productions in a giant venue, then the Dallas Theater Center is your place. As the 2017 Regional Tony Award-winning theatre, they don't shy away from being the best in the business. The Dallas Theater Center is the arts district theater company. Its budget is larger than most in the area. It is also a local member of the League of Resident Theatres and works with more Actors' Equity Association members. This video shows scenes from one of their plays, Real Women Have Curves.

Long, Rich History

Founded in 1959, the Dallas Theater Center was one of the first regional theaters in the US. It was originally founded as an educational institution and was expected to be a conservatory. During its early stages, the theatre became a national leader in producing experimental interpretations of classic works. It also had many world premieres, with 35 plays premiering within the first couple decades. In 1983, the Dallas Theater Center was changed to be a fully professional theatre with its own resident company of actors and actresses. Since then, they have continually strived for artistic excellence in every performance. Click on the video to see their upcoming 2019-2020 season line-up.

Wide Range of Audiences

As one of the leading regional theaters in the USA, the Dallas Theater Center performs for over 80,000 Texas residents annually. As such, they realize how important it is to target different audiences and different demographics. The theater presents original works, classics, educational programs and remains committed to diversity and inclusion in their vision and mission statements. If you find yourself in the Dallas area, be sure to be a part of one of their many artistic or educational programs.
